DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMS

 2022/23 Developmental Programs will be Co-Ed

                                 SESSION DATES AND FEES 
                              Spring 2023 -  Now Open For Registration

Session Length:  10 weeks

Cost:                1 hour/wk- $316 (billed in two payments of $158)

                          1.5 hours/wk- $476  (billed in two payments of $238)

                          2 hours/wk- $558  (billed in two payments of $279)

Class Dates:   Monday April 3-Jun 12         -No class May 22

                          Tuesday  April 4-June 6  

                          Wednesday April 5 -Jun 7

                            Thursday  April 6- Jun 8

                            Saturday  April 7-Jun 9

                                  Sunday  Adult class date T.B.D.

Athletes will be charged 50% of the class fee at time of booking with the balance being charged halfway through the session.

Classes run once per week. Athletes select one day and time when registering and stick with that selection for the duration of the session. Choices include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday. 

Registrations from previous sessions do not carry over. Anyone wishing to participate in the Spring 2023 session will need to register. 

There will a maximum of 1 class credit issued for illness during a session. A class credit may be issued for injury with a doctor's note at the discretion of the club. A class credit will not be issued for classes missed due to travel or social activities. Class credits cannot be converted to refunds.

No trials or make ups are permitted during this session. In the event of a lockdown any remaining paid classes will switch to virtual (to a maximum of 5 weeks). There will be no refunds or credits offered if a lockdown is required.

R.H.G.C. cannot cancel classes due to inclement weather

ABOUT DEVELOPMENTAL GYMNASTICS at R.H.G.C.

 Developmental gymnasts have fun and work hard, with an ultimate goal of developing strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and gymnastics skills, all while making new friends. As a sport that is both mental and physical, gymnastics not only offers opportunities for your child to progress physically, but also mentally through increased self-esteem, confidence, and social skills.

What to bring…

  • Gym bag with large Ziploc or grocery bag for shoes

  • Come dressed for class. Use of cubbies and change-rooms will NOT be permitted.

  • Personal supply of hair-ties and band-aids

  • A labelled water bottle 

  • Personal hand sanitizer

  • masking is optional for all staff and athletes

Some notes…

At this point in time, you should have already accepted our COVID-19 policies. The following information outlines our protocols for keeping our athletes and coaches safe. Please be sure you are educated on our policies to promote a safe and fun training experience. 

  • Athletes are to be dropped off at the front door. No spectators will be allowed in the gym. 

  • Athletes must come changed. Change-room use is not permitted. 

  • Athletes will sanitize hands and feet upon entering the facility. 

  • Outdoor shoes and any additional clothes will be placed in their gym bags. Gym bags will be placed by the exit door ready for pick-up time. 

  • Athletes will work individually on drills / circuits on each event.

  • Washroom taps / toilets will be sanitized frequently during training.

  • We are asking that no food be brought into the facility at this time. 

  • At the end of training athletes will be picked up at the south door by the balance beams. 

  • The entire facility will be cleaned in between groups of training sessions 

PROGRAM OVERVIEWS

CO-ED KINDERGYM

Boys and girls

In our co-ed kindergym program, children will start learning fundamental skills such as running, jumping, climbing, swinging, rolling and locomotion. Basic skills introduced may include front and back rolls, cartwheels and handstands on the floor,  and various shape jumps on trampoline. Athletes will also begin walking and jumping on beam, swinging on the bars, and learning basic vault progressions. This program will be very beneficial for your childs motor skills, social skills, and encourages  positive self-esteem. 

JUNIOR CO-ED

5-7 years old

Our junior co-ed program continues to build upon the body positions and dominant movement patterns essential to the sport of gymnastics. Gymnasts use: vault, bars, beam, floor, trampoline, rings, parallel bars and tumble track to learn basic skills and to train strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. 

SENIOR CO-ED

7.5+

In our senior co-ed program, athletes continue to build upon the body positions and dominant movement patterns essential to the sport of gymnastics. Gymnasts use the vault, bars, beam, floor, trampoline, high bar, parallel bars, mushroom, rings, pommel horse and tumble track to learn basic skills and to train strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. At this age, gymnasts are likely to be working on handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, walkovers, and handsprings, to name a few. Our NCCP certified coaches will always work at your child's skill level. 

Co-Ed Kin

TEEN CO-ED

11+ years old

In our senior co-ed program, athletes continue to build upon the body positions and dominant movement patterns essential to the sport of gymnastics. Gymnasts use the vault, bars, beam high bar, floor, parallel bars, pommel horse, mushroom, rings, trampoline, and tumble track to learn basic skills and to train strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. At this age, some more advanced skills are likely to be introduced. Our NCCP certified coaches will always work at your child's skill level. 

Junior

In our advanced co-ed program, athletes continue to build upon the body positions and dominant movement patterns essential to the sport of gymnastics and competitive programs. Gymnasts use the vault, bars, beam, floor, rings, pommel horse, high bar, parallel bars,  trampoline, and tumble track to improve their skill set and to train strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. At this level, gymnasts will be developing skills such as press to handstand, and working tumbling passes including  round-offs, walkovers, and handsprings, to name a few. Many athletes at this level are also starting to learn saltos and aerials.  Our NCCP certified coaches will always work at your child's skill level. 

Senior

We do not run training on the following days:​

  • Winter Break / Christmas Break

  • What if I join late? No problem, fees will be pro-rated

  • Are there any additional fees? No, all fees include HST and Gymnastics Ontario registration fees.

  • Do you offer refunds? There are no refunds permitted once programs have started.
